Problem: The client has limited use of one hand only and her knuckles were becoming raw from trying to operate the small buttons of the television set that she recently acquired.

Solution.: The client did not want to have another remote control, she wanted to operate the TV directly. Large plastic fingers were made so that the client has a large area to push with the back of her hand. The base of the fingers is screwed to the edge of the dresser where the TV is located, and the bent tops of the fingers press against the small buttons. The TV is prevented from moving backwards by placing an appropriate thickness of telephone directory between the back of the TV set and the wall. No finger was provided for the setup button, as the client had found that if she ever pushed this button in error she could not get out of the setup system.
