The Inclined Board

Originator......John Hodge.

E-mail........mjhodge@sympatico.ca

THE PROBLEM:  to allow a person who occasionally falls and has no way of getting up short of calling 911 to raise up into the sitting position.

THE SOLUTION:  with help from one other the person can hook the incline board on the footrest of a recliner chair and crawl up. The footrest of the chair is only opened slightly - enough to allow the hook strip behind it. This reduces the risk of the footrest supports collapsing under the persons weight. The surface of the board is smooth to to allow clothing to slide. Hand holds cut out of the edge allow the user to pull him/herself up the board.
