THE PROBLEM: The challenge was to provide a means for a quadraplegic to play hockey in a wheelchair league.
THE SOLUTION: As shown, the lower half of a straight-bladed hockey stick was fastened to a bracket which ,in turn, was held across the foot rests by two 1/4'' bolts and wing nuts for quick assembly and disassembly. At about 2/3 of the way back on the blade, "arm" were fastened that extended about 4" and at a little less than a right angle to hold the ball in place as the chair moved forward. Chair motion, in this case ,was controlled with a chin switch.
