THE PROBLEM: Older people tend to lose the ability to grip canes, walkers,
THE SOLUTION: Use of a work glove called Steel Grey (made by Watson Gloves) to add gripping power to weak hands. The gloves can be bought at some work warehouse locations. I found them at Mark's Work warehouse. The glove is a grey coloured wool or wool/synthetic combination and this fabric is overlain, in a net pattern, by many thin strips of a shiney black substance which has the appearance and feel of black silicone sealer. I tried these gloves out on my father who is 88 and
uses a cane, and he said it made quite a difference to his grip. I have no vested interest in these gloves. It was just a case of spotting a product made for the general workforce that would serve a special need for the elderly or weak.etc. because of decreasing strength in their hands.
