The Problem: Power wheelchair forks and axles gouge and mar the woodwork in their environment-- especially door edges.
The Solution: By mounting a disc of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMW) on the caster spindle where it meets the top of the fork, impacts are deflected. The UHMW disc prevents gouging and does not mar the woodwork. If the disc doesn't stop the axle from gouging, a deflector can be mounted on the axle ends. This design is in the public domain.
